I feel like I should have loved this book. It has all the elements that I would usually consider to be a good read. But I just wasn't "feeling" it. It took me 3 attempts to actually finish it. I’m not sure if it was the character of Anita herself, the style of writing (although I have read and enjoyed Laurel k Hamilton’s other series before) But I just kept feeling like I had read this story before- obviously I haven’t but maybe I was expecting more originality, it is after all a MUCH hyped series. No come to think of it, it is Anita i don't like. In my mind she is my idea of what it would be like if your great aunt Mildred dressed up and tried to talk, act and think like a vampire slyer. She is just so dorky and unfunny. I’m sure Hamilton wasn’t aiming for it but she may have created the worlds frumpiest vampire slayer!
