It is so hard to review this book because it leaves you with such mixed emotions. The only thing I can say for sure was that I thought it was brilliant. It is those very mixed emotions that make the book so good, because with every page you read you fall deeper into this twisted and frustrating love/hate relationship with each of the characters. Even the Outback desert a character in itself becomes mixed up in the dysfunctional mess of it all. Seriously (spoiler alert) but I may even have to reassess my feelings towards the camel after all this. Lol. I can’t say I truly enjoyed reading this book. As I have said it is often frustrating. The author is expert at manipulating your emotions against your better judgement. But a really good read is well worth a like emotional discomfort.
