Two years ago Ember was killed in a car accident but her little sister, who has a mysterious gift brought her back to life. But when Ember came back something was wrong .Now everything she touches dies.I was lured into reading this book by the blurb on the front cover. It said “Jennifer L. Armentrout is the Queen of creating novels with kick-butt heroines, drop-dread gorgeous guys, and loads of sexual tension...” I say “Meh...”First of all Ember never once kicked anyone’s butt. What she did do was a lot of feeling sorry for herself, ineffectually pointing fingers and random people and alienating herself from others. In fact there was only one moment in the book where I actually liked her and that was when she was high on painkillers. And as for the drop dead gorgeous Hayden, well I'm not so sure what was so special about him. Except for the fact that Ember kept constantly mentioning how hot he was. Maybe it is just me but I find that it is a characters actions and words that make them attractive not a never end list of their physical attributes. This books story line was supposed to be an intriguing mystery, but the plot was very convoluted and at times incredibly slow. I am sure the author is planning on making this into a series but so many things at the end of this book made no sense at all. And because there was no real set up for the next book the whole experience was very unsatisfying.
